1.Where is the Cold Water Stop installed?
The Cold Water Stop is installed by the circulation pump at the water heater.
2.Do I need a plumber to install the Cold Water Stop?

3.Will this work with a dedicated hot water return line?
No.
4.Does everyone need a Cold Water Stop?
No. We estimate that about 3% of homes that have our equipment installed need a Cold Water Stop.
5.How does the Cold Water Stop work?
The Cold Water Stop delays starting the pump for 1 or 2 seconds which allows the surge from the cold water line to pass without starting the pump.
6.What causes the pump to come on when a cold water fixture is turned on?
Trapped air in the water pipes. Purging both the hot wand cold water lines usually stops cold water fixtures from starting the pump. But sometimes all the air cannot be removed.
For instance, during a remodel a sink may be moved. Typically the hot and cold lines are cut off and capped. This creates a place for air to get trapped without a release point.
